CNC Wood Router Prices in Saudi Arabia: What Decides Them and How to Compare Quotes

Two quotes for a router "of the same size" can differ a lot in price. This guide shows what separates them, and how to request a quote you can compare properly.

"How much is a router?" is the first question we get from carpentry, décor and signage workshop owners. The honest answer: it depends. A router is not one part but a set of components, each priced differently by quality and power.

We don't publish figures on the site because the price changes with specifications and options, but in this guide we explain what raises or lowers the price, so you can request the right quote and compare quotes with confidence. For the machine details see the CNC router 1325.

1. Table size

Most wood and MDF panels on the market measure 1220×2440 mm, which is why a 1300×2500 mm (1325) table is the most common: it takes the whole panel. Smaller tables such as 600×900 or 1300×1300 are cheaper but need the panel cut before the machine, and larger tables such as 1500×3000 or 2000×3000 are for large doors and high volume, at a higher price.

2. The spindle: power and cooling type

The spindle is the heart of the router, and its power and type affect the price and working speed directly:

  • Power: a more powerful spindle cuts thick and hard wood faster, and costs more.
  • Air or water-cooled: air-cooled (up to 18,000 rpm on the 1325 router) is simpler to maintain, and water-cooled (up to 24,000 rpm) is quieter and finer for finishing. The price difference is relatively small.
  • Quality and brand: a good spindle lasts years, and a poor one causes vibration and damages bits.

3. Tool changing: manual or automatic

This is the biggest price difference between models. On a standard router you change the bit by hand when you need another tool. A router with automatic tool change (ATC) swaps bits itself from a magazine, cutting, drilling and milling in the same job without stopping.

When do you need automatic tool change?
Type of workManual changeAutomatic change
Cutting panels with one bitEnoughNot necessary
Carving ornaments and doorsUsually enoughSaves time
Furniture in volume (cutting, drilling and milling)SlowEssential

4. How the panel is held down

Clamping is cheaper and suits varied work, but takes setup time. A vacuum table with a pump holds the panel by suction quickly and without clamps getting in the bit's way; it is essential for cutting furniture in volume, and raises the price depending on the pump's capacity.

5. Motors, control and frame

  • Motors: stepper motors are cheaper and suit most work; servo motors are faster and more precise for production.
  • Control system: from a simple DSP handset to advanced computer systems.
  • Frame and rails: a heavy, treated steel frame reduces vibration and keeps accuracy for years; a light frame is cheaper but tires under heavy work.
  • Drive: rack and pinion or ball screws, each with its own use and price.

6. Options

  • A rotary axis for carving columns and cylindrical legs.
  • Multiple heads for carving several pieces at once.
  • A dust extractor sized for the machine.
  • A tool length sensor that saves calibration time.

7. After-sales support: part of the price

A cheaper quote without installation, training or local spare parts can cost you more. Ask: does the price include delivery, installation and test carving? How many days of software training? What is the warranty period? And where are spare parts such as the spindle, driver and collets? We supply router spare parts from our stock in Riyadh and Dammam.

Don't forget the running cost

Besides the purchase price, there is electricity for the machine and vacuum pump, bits that wear, maintenance and the operator's salary. Work it out with your own numbers in the running cost calculator and choose "CNC router".

How to compare two quotes

  1. Make sure the actual working size is the same in both quotes.
  2. Compare the spindle power, type and brand.
  3. See whether there is automatic tool change, and how many bits it holds.
  4. Compare the hold-down method and vacuum pump.
  5. Compare the motors and control system.
  6. Compare what the price includes: delivery, installation, training and warranty.

And if you are unsure between a router and a laser for your work, read router, CO2 laser or fiber laser, and for the specifications step by step how to choose a CNC router.

Used or new router?

A used machine looks cheaper at first, but it carries risks you need to count: a worn spindle that needs replacing, worn rails and screws that affect accuracy, and an old control board whose parts may not be available. It usually comes with no warranty, installation or training, and an unknown maintenance history.

If you choose used, check it running on your material in front of you, ask for any maintenance invoices, and make sure its parts are available before paying.

Site preparation costs

Besides the machine price, there are preparation costs to include in your budget from the start so you are not surprised on installation day:

  • Power: most industrial routers such as the 1325 run on 380 V 3-phase, and the vacuum pump adds load on the line.
  • Space and floor: a level, strong area, with room around the machine for loading, unloading and workers moving.
  • Chip extraction: an extractor with enough capacity and ducting to the machine, because MDF dust is fine and harms health and motors.
  • Ventilation and heat: a shaded, ventilated space extends the life of motors and electronics, especially in the Saudi summer.

Questions to ask the supplier before you sign

  1. What is the spindle power, type and brand?
  2. Is tool changing manual or automatic, and how many bits does the magazine hold?
  3. What type of table: vacuum or clamps? And what is the pump capacity?
  4. Which motors and control system?
  5. Does the price include delivery, installation and software training?
  6. Where are spare parts such as the spindle, driver and collets?

A confident supplier answers these questions clearly and in writing. You can see real photos of our machine handovers and installations at customers on our projects page.

Common mistakes when buying

  • Buying a table smaller than your panels to save a small amount.
  • Choosing a weak spindle for hard or thick wood.
  • Paying for automatic tool change when all your work is cutting with one bit.
  • Forgetting the vacuum pump and extractor in the budget.
  • Ignoring training on design and CAM software.

The warranty: what to check in the quote

The warranty is one of the most important differences between router quotes, but it is often written in general terms. Ask for the details in writing in the quote:

  • Period: how many years, and when does it start: from delivery or from installation?
  • What it covers: the spindle, inverter, motors, drivers and control board.
  • What it does not cover: consumables that wear with use, and faults caused by misuse or unstable power.
  • Response: how long until a technician reaches you, and is there remote support before the visit?
  • Spare parts: are replacement parts available inside the Kingdom or ordered from abroad?

A strong warranty with a nearby technician and parts inside the Kingdom is worth a lot if a fault occurs, because every day of downtime means late orders and idle workers.

Delivery and installation in your city

We deliver and install routers in Riyadh, Jeddah, Dammam and every region of the Kingdom, train your team on site, and keep spare parts in Riyadh and Dammam. See your city's page: Riyadh, Jeddah, Dammam, Qassim, Makkah, Madinah.

Summary

The price of a router is set by size, spindle, tool changing, hold-down, motors and after-sales support. Define your work first, then request a quote with exactly the specifications you need. Send us on WhatsApp your type of work, panel sizes and materials, and we will recommend the right model with a written quote the same day. And see every category on CNC machines in Saudi Arabia.
